Development of an innovative RC steam micro-power plant for high-efficiency biomass cogeneration

BAMET Sp. z o.o. has received European Union funding for the project "Development of an innovative RC steam micro-power plant for high-efficiency biomass cogeneration", under Priority I of the European Funds for a Modern Economy Programme 2021–2027.

Agreement no.: FENG.01.01-IP.01-A1H4/25-00

The project is carried out in a consortium with the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. Its objective is to develop and validate a modern micro-power plant with a biomass heat source, operating in the Rankine cycle (RC) with water steam as the working fluid. The unit will feature an innovative solution enabling simultaneous local generation of electricity and heat in a low-emission manner that is efficient in both energy and economic terms.

The research tasks focus on the following areas:
- design of individual components and of the complete integrated system, verification of design guidelines using numerical models of thermal-flow phenomena, construction of physical models, experimental verification of the design assumptions, and development of operating characteristics;
- experimental and numerical analysis of the minimum viable prototype.

Development work will concentrate on building a technology demonstrator incorporating the product innovation, and on its optimisation. The project will result in a demonstration prototype of the device with an electrical output of at least 5 kW which, following laboratory testing, will enable further development of the technology towards a full-scale prototype ready for deployment in the renewable energy sector (RES).

The project outcome will be an RC steam micro-power plant employing an innovative solution based on direct evaporation of the working fluid (water) within the heat source, i.e. in the biomass boiler. It will be a cogeneration unit adapted to operate at steam parameters of 15–20 bar and a temperature of approximately 450 °C.

Target group: the enterprise and purchasers of the RC steam micro-power plant.

Implementation of an innovative product in the form of a CNC bending machine

Bamet sp. z o.o. is implementing the project entitled “Increasing the competitiveness of BAMET through the implementation of an innovative product developed as a result of research and development works, in the form of a digitally controlled CNC bending machine for plastics, as well as through the application of digital solutions”, co-financed from European Funds under the European Funds for a Modern Economy Programme 2021–2027, Priority I: Support for Entrepreneurs, SMART Path.

The project involves introducing to the market a digitally controlled CNC bending machine for plastics through the expansion of the existing production infrastructure (construction of an industrial facility) and equipping BAMET sp. z o.o. with machinery and equipment necessary for the production process. Within the Digitalisation module, the project includes the implementation of three specialised digital solutions and the enhancement of the company’s IT infrastructure resources.

Implementation of design software

Paweł Babraj “BAMET” implemented the project entitled “Implementation of design software at Paweł Babraj ‘BAMET’”, co-financed from European Funds under the Intelligent Development Operational Programme 2014–2020, Priority Axis 2: Support for the business environment and enterprise innovation potential, Measure 2.2 Open innovation – support for technology transfer.

The aim of the project is to implement a process innovation in the form of a significant improvement in 3D design.

Thanks to the integration of advanced design tools—such as part modeling functions, creation of drawings with built-in simulation solutions, cost estimation, rendering, animation, and product data management—the implemented software enables faster and easier development and sharing of design concepts, providing a more efficient 3D design environment.
